Administrator, Instructor
Hello. My name is Jeff. I joined Patten’s Commercial Driver Training in Spring of 2024. I have served in the NH National Guard for 25 years acquiring the rank of First Seargent. Serving God, family and Country was activated to active duty on September 12, 2001, deploying twice to Iraq. I retired in 2012. Starting a career as a heavy vehicle diesel mechanic and recovery specialist.

I also served as a law enforcement officer for 29 years, acquired the rank of Chief of Police. Serving four communities in those years.

When I returned from deployment and retiring from military service, I was hired by the State of New Hampshire, Division of Motor Vehicles as a commercial driver licensing examiner where I was certified by (IDEC), International Driver Examiner Certification Board and (AAMVA), American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators. In two years, I took the role as Chief Licensing Examiner responsible for all licensing examiner training and testing. I certified 26 examiners and 12 State Troopers as Commercial License examiners. I also worked closely with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration with regulatory issues involving Testing of Commercial Drivers. I was involved directly with the New Commercial Driver License Testing model, which was developed to update the previous testing model, traveling to states to train their Commercial Examiners in implementing the Pilot program.

I left the Division of Motor Vehicles in 2022 when the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) program was federally mandated and was the Training manager for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation training more than 200 employees.

I’ve had my commercial driver license since 1986 and presently continue to drive for Dairy Farmers of America on weekends to remain involved in industry and keep sharp behind the wheel.

In my lifetime I have enjoyed training people of all ages and backgrounds. I look forward to the opportunity to teach everyone the safety elements and responsibilities of driving a commercial vehicle on our streets and highways.
