Hello.  My name is Tim and I joined Patten’s Commercial Driver Training in the spring of 2023. I am a United States Marine and served God, Family and Country from 1976-1980 acquiring the rank of Sergeant. Upon serving in the military, I had a successful career for more than 10 years, becoming certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence as an Automotive Technician. Upon becoming an ASE Certified Technician, I furthermore obtained my New Hampshire automotive inspection license from the State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles.

After a rewarding career in the automotive industry, I felt the need to return to duty however this time, serving the citizens of the State of New Hampshire as a full-time law enforcement officer.  Having successfully graduated from the 105th police academy, I joined the University of New Hampshire Police Department where I fulfilled the duties of both a patrol and field training officer for more than two years. The experience as a UNH police officer eventually led me to joining the New Hampshire State Police where I acquired the rank of Trooper First Class prior to retiring in 2016. My assigned duties included but were not limited to enforcing NH criminal & motor vehicle laws and NH’s administrative rules. I also fulfilled the responsibilities of a field training officer for new troopers and furthermore was assigned to the New Hampshire State Police Motorcycle and Aviation Units.

I obtained my Class-A, commercial driver license more than 5 years ago and has driven full-time professionally both truck-tractors and straight trucks hauling a wide range of commodities and construction equipment before joining Patten’s Commercial Driver Training as an instructor. Since becoming a team member, I have attended several in-service industry driven training courses and strive every day to share my knowledge and experiences with our students and industry partners.

“I enjoy the daily challenges that students bring with them. From those individuals who have never been in a tractor trailer, to those who want to upgrade their license. It brings me great satisfaction when our team works together to accomplish the goals of the student.”
